Everyone should have access to fresh, healthy, local food. Market Bucks help SNAP customers stretch their dollars at the farmers market, making healthy food more affordable.
Market Bucks match SNAP-EBT spending dollar-for-dollar (up to $10) at participating farmers markets across Minnesota. There are 4 easy steps to using SNAP-EBT at the farmers market:
1. Go to the Information Booth at the farmers market.
2. Swipe your EBT card for the amount you want to spend. We’ll match your purchase dollar-for-dollar, up to $10.
3. Get $10* in free Market Bucks.
4. Shop for up to $20 of SNAP-eligible food and produce at the farmers market.
*Up to $10 per market visit. You do not have to spend the full $10 each time.
Some farmers markets run through the winter months, meaning you can get fresh, healthy, local food all year round!

Sun Bucks return! 🌞
Starting in July and continuing through August, eligible families can apply for Sun Bucks. Families who are not already participating in SNAP, Medicaid, or already deemed eligible for Free and Reduced-Price Meals can apply now through a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application at their local school. Applying sooner can help families receive their benefits sooner. Families already enrolled in SNAP or Medicaid, or those who have already been approved for Free and Reduced-Price Meals, do not need to submit an application.

Please note that Sun Bucks function just like a SNAP/EBT card and can be used at participating markets alongside Market Bucks. The same matching rules apply, Market Bucks will match up to the first $10 spent when using a Sun Bucks card at a participating market.
