The Section 8 Program is funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). To be eligible for the program, total household income must fall within the guidelines established by HUD. A qualified household may rent any type of unit suitable for their family size and type. Any type of rental unit can be rented. However, it must meet the Section 8 standards and pass an inspection.
