“I’m proud to help raise money for the Arrowhead Region food shelves. Even with a recovering economy, job losses and rising food costs mean more families are stretched to the limit,” said Senator Bakk. “We are doing our part to help, and I hope all Minnesotans will take time to help others this holiday season.”

One in five Minnesota families struggles to put healthy meals on the table. Every day in Minnesota, food shelves provide grocery assistance to 8,500 people, 3,500 of whom are children. The need for emergency food relief continues to be a problem in Minnesota even as the economy has improved.
