This month, University of Minnesota Extension shares two helpful handouts with HSM members. Both offer lists of foods that can be purchased at the grocery store for a limited amount of money.
The first flier shows a list of food items that can be purchased for $10 and three recipes that can be made from those items. This flier is especially helpful for those that you serve that are eligible for the minimum allocation of $10 in food support. Click here for the $10 flier.
The second flier presents two grocery lists. One list is $20 worth of foods that are high in fat and sugar and the other list is $20 worth of food high in protein, vitamins and minerals. This flier also offers meal ideas using the items from the more nutritious food list. Click here for the $20 flier.
Both handouts are a great resource for the people you serve. Add these fliers to your resource table, next to your food support information. Or you might include the fliers in food packages for the month to be sure every participant sees them.
