TEFAP Update February 2008

The New Year should see an increase in TEFAP products arriving at the Food Banks. You will be seeing some of the more familiar items (ground beef, vegetable oil, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, etc.) showing up on an inventory near you.

Additionally, bonus truckloads of canned meats (beef, chicken & pork), canned vegetables (green beans, peas, carrots & tomatoes) and of course the “always popular” grapefruit juice will be arriving in the next few months.

Unfortunately, most of these bonus products are only single truckloads (except the tomatoes and grapefruit juice) for the entire state. We are hopeful that if and when the Federal Farm Bill passes there will be additional monies available to procure more of these items for those in need.
