Free Dental Care for Kids in Minnesota

Thousands of low-income children across the state of Minnesota will receive much-needed free dental care in February when volunteer dentists and other dental professionals donate their time and resources to provide free care through the “Give Kids a Smile” event.

“Give Kids a Smile” is coordinated by the Minnesota Dental Association and will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 1-2, 2008 in more than 200 locations throughout the state.

To register:

  • Parents may call United Way 211 (dial 2-1-1) or 800-543-7709 after January 1st, 2008.
  • They will be directed to a participating dental office in their area.
  • They will then have to call the dental office directly to schedule an appointment.

Services are typically available to children ranging in age from 3 to 18 and vary from preventative care to restorative care. To look at and print easy-to-read fliers that are available in six languages, click here.
