That’s why the Alliance to End Hunger along with Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind., and Rep. Jim McGovern, D-Mass., sent a letter to Obama last week signed by 116 members of Congress from both parties. The lawmakers asked Obama to name a White House official who would carry out a plan ending hunger among American children.
Lugar, a member of the Senate Hunger Caucus, has been an advocate in the fight against hunger for decades.
