A new report published by Children’s Defense Fund Minnesota and JOBS NOW Coalition details how important the minimum wage is to the well-being of millions of American children and their families. In Minnesota, an effort this year to raise the minimum wage — currently $6.55 per hour — was thwarted when Governor Pawlenty vetoed a minimum wage increase that passed both the state House and Senate. The report shows which state lawmakers supported the increase and which ones opposed it.
