Spring Grant Distribution Applications Due

Applications to be included in the Spring 2008 State Grant distribution are currently due. Food Shelves that applied and received money during the Fall distribution are automatically included in the Spring and do not need to reapply. But, your final report from the Fall distribution grant must be received in our office before we can release your spring funds.

If you did not apply for the Fall distribution and would like to be included in the Spring distribution, please be sure to submit your application right away.

HSM Membership Applications Also Due

Membership to HSM assists in providing such services as:

  • Grants management which comprises state support, Open Your Heart funding and other equipment/education monies
  • Administration of the TEFAP contract on behalf of the state of Minnesota
  • Advocacy at the state and federal level, working to increase funding to food shelves and supporting increased resources for public nutrition programs
  • Organizing press releases to raise the public’s awareness of hunger and poverty issues
  • Coordinating educational opportunities across the state that offer an occasion to network with other food shelves, including HSM Lunch and Learn Sessions
