Join us for an interactive event featuring author and journalist Cokie Roberts to raise awareness about hunger in Minnesota.

  • Voice of Hunger Luncheon and Candidate Forum

Hunger Solutions Minnesota, the statewide leader in public policy and advocacy influence, invites you to your first opportunity to hear the Governor candidates’ policy statements on hunger.

The event will investigate the need for grassroots advocacy and demonstrate why and how public policy improvements will effectively address the issues surrounding hunger and poverty.

  • Luncheon featuring Cokie Roberts speaking on the importance of fighting hunger, especially in tough economic times.
  • Second Annual Voice of Hunger Award

1:30 p.m.

  • Moderated Governor Candidate Forum—your opportunity to hear about the candidates’ views on the need for public policy in fighting hunger. Attendees will have the chance to ask candidates about their commitment to addressing hunger and poverty in the U.S. and learn what specific policies and investments they will support.

    Hunger is on the rise in Minnesota and visits to food shelves in the first three months of this year were up 28 percent over last year, according to a new study from Hunger Solutions. More than 237,000 children visited food shelves with their families in that time, making it tough for local food pantries to stay stocked.
