The Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE) is a union of state employees. MAPE has been a donor to HSM for two years. They have collected funds from their local organizations across the state and have contributed nearly $15,000.

HSM is a coalition partner with MAPE. Together we are making progress on sustainable solutions for self-sufficiency for all Minnesota residents. MAPE members are very aware of how big the hunger problem is in Minnesota and view HSM as the best partner to direct their donations and a percent of their union dues.
MAPE members work daily to help Minnesotan’s to find employment, training, and housing. Activities aimed at getting workers and their families back on their feet and self-sufficient. Because unemployment is increasing and the economic conditions are getting worse, members are happy to give back to the community and grateful for gainful employment.
Jamie Fitzpatrick is a MAPE member and an anti-hunger advocate.
He is also a HSM board member, the Treasurer of MAPE and a Field Representative with the Department of Employment & Economic Development.
Fitzpatrick has a unique perspective for main street Minnesota. He travels the state and works on the front lines with people in crisis. He knows intimately the results of job layoffs and a poor economy.
Volunteering to solve issues around hunger since a child, Fitzpatrick wanted to serve on the HSM board because of our statewide presence, our policy expertise and focused leadership in the complex system of hunger-relief.
He feels that the board and leadership at HSM are on the right track and have a great vision. Jamie says that HSM is in a unique leadership position and has been successful in generating awareness in the media and positive change in policy both in Minnesota and nationally.
