$1 million grant to feed Children in 120+ MN Communities

The funds have created more robust child feeding programs this summer across Minnesota to help the 1 in 8 children at risk of hunger.

These food shelves expand grocery service to children this summer.

* Distributing backpacks filled with kid-friendly nutritious food, and/or partnering with local youth groups or sports activities to send backpacks home with low-income children.

* Adding a produce distribution that serves families with children this summer. Like NACENACE will be able to provide more fresh vegetables to families for the rest of this summer thanks to a grant from Hunger Solutions.

What is food insecurity?

Children are considered food insecure if, in the last year, they did not eat enough, did not eat for a day, skipped a meal or were hungry because their family could not afford adequate food.

Ending Childhood Hunger with The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act.

This legislation contains funding for school meals, WIC and Summer meal programs.
