OEO/DHS Develops a New Tool to Assist in Food Support Outreach

Do you provide Food Support Outreach? Do staff or volunteers of your organization assist clients with the Combined Application Form for benefits? OEO has developed a tool useful to both you and your clients in the process of applying for Food Support. This large envelope is printed with a list of documents necessary for a Food Support application and interview. Use this great tool in conjunction with the Food Support screening tools you are already using.

When creating this envelope the objectives were to:

• Create a tool that would prepare clients for the face to face interview, with more concrete and specific examples of documentation.
• Give you, as the outreach worker, a better understanding of the documentation your client will need for the face-to-face interview.
• Allow both you and the client the opportunity to organize, copy, and submit all needed documentation at once. We hope this will make for a smoother process for everyone.
