Senate HHS Committee decides on Food Shelf Funding

The Senate Health and Human Service Finance committee will be deciding the fate of almost $1.3 million currently distributed annually to food shelves across the state.

Also on the table, an additional $1 million for Minnesota food shelves to meet the double-digit increase in need.

There were over 2 million visits to food shelves in Minnesota last year.

Currently there are over 320,000 individuals using Food Support/SNAP benefits to help feed their families.
