HSM Membership Applications for 2009

We invite you to renew your membership with Hunger Solutions Minnesota for 2009. Your dues support our many services offered to member food shelves. Some of these services include:

• Grants management which comprises state support, Open Your Heart funding and other monies that become available
• Administration of the TEFAP contract on behalf of the state of Minnesota
• Advocacy at the state and federal level, working to increase funding to food shelves and supporting increased resources for public nutrition programs
• Organizing press releases to raise the public’s awareness of hunger and poverty issues
• Issuing enewsletters that are informative and useful to your food shelf work

During 2009, we are looking forward to providing many opportunities that will enable you to promote food support as a means of helping you keep up with the demand in your community. These opportunities will include online information on food support outreach and a promotional kit focusing on the Bridge to Benefits website, an initiative of the Children’s Defense Fund-Minnesota, which exists to connect low-income Minnesotans with the public work support programs in which they may be eligible.
