Forest Lake students collect food for local families

in

Nearly 2,300 food items and $600 were donated by Forest Lake High School and Century Junior High students during the FFA’s annual Adopt a Family Program.

FFA members from both schools took the lead in making this project successful by placing collection boxes in each first hour classroom and by motivating their peers to contribute to the cause.

Items were distributed to local food pantries within the Forest Lake School District including Forest Lake, Wyoming, Linwood, Scandia and Hugo. This year’s members took part in a tradition of giving that stretches back 24 years.

The FFA chapter is an integral part of the Forest Lake Agriculture program. The purpose of the FFA is to develop the leadership skills necessary for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.
